Summary

We are looking for volunteers to assist with our board games group on Wednesdays, 5pm - 7pm

Detailed description

The purpose of this role is to encourage and support children and adults to participate in, and enjoy playing, board games. To teach people games as necessary e.g. chess; Scrabble; cribbage.


You will be asked to:


  • Help staff with setting up a board games session
  • Be available at set times to play board games with those attending the session
  • Teach people new games as necessary
  • Clear away games at the end of the session, and ensure that all parts and pieces are in the correct boxes


This volunteer role requires the following skills:


  • An enjoyment of playing board games
  • Some knowledge of popular games e.g. chess, cribbage, Scrabble and card games
  • A sociable personality
  • Patient and willing to spend time encouraging people to participate regardless of their skill level
  • A good communicator with people of all ages and backgrounds
