Summary

We are looking for Digital Champions to help with a project we are running in partnership with OFCOM to help build knowledge of Digital Technology.

Detailed description

Norfolk Library and Information Service has a core aim of supporting IT literacy. In order to support the work that we do in this area, we are taking part in a project with OFCOM to help build customer confidence with using IT.


Volunteers will help customers in three key area that the project is targeting: Basic digital skills to enable you to get online; identifying scams and misinformation to stay safe; and being able to use the internet with confidence to keep you in control. The project will draw on the supporting materials provided on the Learn My Way website:


  • Getting online
  • Support with using e-mail
  • Safe online shopping
  • Using online technology to connect with friends and family
  • Exploring social media


Volunteers are not expected to be an expert in all of these areas but the materials available on the Learn My Way website can be used to guide a customer through the subject and increase their knowledge and confidence across these areas.
