Volunteer Community Engagement Assistant

Volunteering is a fantastic way of giving back to your local community and our existing volunteers tell us they find the experience enjoyable and rewarding for many reasons including opportunities to develop new skills, meet new people or stay active and keep their minds stimulated. We are looking for a friendly, outgoing and compassionate volunteer with good interpersonal, communication and organisational skills to support our Fundraising and Community Engagement Manager in the delivery of Norwich Door to Door’s ‘More to Door’ service within the community. This role includes calling service users, scheduling details, sorting through donations and maintaining stock for the bus visits and visiting passengers with a stocked bus once a month (with the assistance of a driver). More visits are scheduled at Easter and Christmas.

This post would be suitable for someone with a good knowledge of Excel, Word and databases and an understanding of loneliness and isolation and its impact on vulnerable people.

This is a voluntary role and as such no reimbursement will be made for any time given to support this activity. Travel costs and any service-related expenditure incurred on behalf of the charity will be reimbursed. 

Full training will be provided. Candidates are subject to a DBS check.
