Treasurer

Finance (Treasurer) – 1/2 hours per week. WFH or Hybrid as required.

This is a great opportunity for someone with financial experience who is looking to support the journey of a historic building in its transition from an active WW2 environment to a local community and education hub. The tower museum caters to a diverse range of visitors and supporters ensuring the history and sacrifice is always remembered. Not to mention your opportunity to make some good friends along the way.

A bit about the opportunity:

Most of the role can be completed working from home as it is totally digitised via online banking and online access to our Paypal and Square Up accounts for sales/membership fees. (However you are more than welcome come and get involved at the museum itself if you can get there)

The role can be as a voting member of the committee or an honorary position to keep the time requirements down depending on how involved with the museum you would like to get.

There is also an element involving petty cash, cashing up and paying in cash to the Post Office after the 6 open days per year if you wanted to get a bit more hands on but can be separated to keep the role WFH if you prefer

The key aspects of the opportunity:

•Updating the P&L spreadsheet

•Recording and managing expenses via Santander mobile banking app culminating in electronic reimbursement.

•Overseeing the payment and renewals of utilities suppliers (all via DD)

•Accessing the cash and electronic payment systems (Paypal and Square up) in use for year round online sales and open days (currently 6 per year) to reflect the data in the P&L

•Preparing a simple monthly Finance update for the committee

•Preparing the annual update for the AGM
