Summary
Supporting people with physical or learning disabilities to learn basic cooking skills at a weekly social club in Norwich (South Park Avenue) on Wednesday eves.Detailed description
As a Cookery Support Volunteer your role will be tailored to your skills, experience and availability. You will join a team of volunteers supporting a weekly, Wednesday evening social club for adults with disabilities. This specific role will involve supporting one of our Lead Volunteers to help a small group of people with learning and/or physical disabilities to learn basic cookery skills. You can volunteer once a month, or join a weekly team that might involve helping with cover on reception, raffle sales, art or games, but more regularly hosting, or encouraging others to participate in themed programmes such as karaoke, bingo, visiting speakers, men's and women's discussion groups or during the lighter nights supporting a nature walk, or outdoor sports activity.
You may have a skill to share - in which case that will add value to our programmes.
In return we offer free, and full training in Disability Awareness and Safeguarding, we cover your travelling expenses and you will be joining a project that has put smiles on faces of people with disabilities in Norwich for 57 years.
