Summary
Volunteers are needed weekday afternoons to support patients with activities such as quizzes, puzzles, games, music, crafts, simple exercises
Detailed description
The aim of the role is to provide support to patients with activities and simple exercise.. You can encourage patients with activities such as:
- quizzes
- puzzles
- music
- board games
- newspaper/book reading
- arts and crafts
- simple sports
- conversations
- chair and bay exercises
- and more - if you have suggestions, please let us know
These sorts of activities will empower patients to implement positive changes to their own health and wellbeing. Activities may be run on a 1:1 basis or in a group setting within the ward day room.
You will also provide invaluable assistance to the clinical teams enabling them to continue delivering an outstanding service to their patients.
We will expect a weekly commitment from you of approximately 2 hours per week. Activity groups will be run in the day room from 2-4pm daily.
To volunteer in this role you will need to complete a DBS check, provide two appropriate character references and you will need to attend an Induction/Training Session before you start in this role.
